This is the 3 LBS tub of Dymatize ISO 100 — the middle size, holding about 42 scoops. It is the same hydrolysed whey protein isolate as the 5 LBS, in a tub that does not ask you to commit to two months of one flavour.
What is in one scoop
One 32 g scoop delivers:
- 25 g of protein from hydrolysed whey protein isolate and whey protein isolate — 50% of the daily value.
- 120 calories, 2 g of carbohydrate (1 g of it sugar, none added) and 1 g of fat, none saturated and none trans.
- 10 mg cholesterol, 180 mg sodium, 230 mg potassium, 120 mg calcium and 0.8 mg iron.
The per-scoop panel is identical across all three tub sizes. Only the number of scoops changes.
How long a 3 LBS tub lasts
About 42 scoops, which is roughly 1,050 g of protein in the tub. At one scoop a day that is around six weeks. If you take one on training days only, four sessions a week, it stretches to about two and a half months. Two scoops a day and you are looking at three weeks.
That middle range is what the size is for. It is long enough to be a real supply rather than a sample, short enough that you are not stuck with a flavour you have gone off.
Choosing between the three sizes
| Size | Scoops per tub | Protein per tub |
|---|---|---|
| 5 LBS (2.27 kg) | About 71 | About 1,775 g |
| 3 LBS (1.36 kg) — this tub | About 42 | About 1,050 g |
| 1.43 LBS (649 g) | About 20 | About 500 g |

Larger tubs always work out cheaper per serving, so the honest advice is that the 5 LBS is the better buy if you already know ISO 100 suits you and you know which flavour you want. The 3 LBS earns its place when you are still deciding, or when you rotate flavours rather than finishing one tub at a time. The 1.43 LBS is a trial size and carries the Dunkin coffee flavours the larger tubs do not.
Hydrolysed isolate, briefly
ISO 100 has no whey concentrate in it at all. Its first ingredient is hydrolysed whey protein isolate, with standard whey protein isolate second — whey filtered until nearly everything that is not protein has been removed, then broken into shorter chains before it reaches you. That is why 25 g of protein arrives with only 2 g of carbohydrate behind it, and it is also why it costs more than a whey blend. The 5 LBS page covers the differences between the three whey tiers in full.
Ingredients and allergens
Hydrolysed whey protein isolate, whey protein isolate, cocoa powder (processed with alkali), then less than 2% of salt, soy lecithin, natural and artificial flavour, potassium chloride, sucralose and steviol glycosides (stevia).
Contains milk and soy. The filtering strips out most of the lactose, which is why people who react badly to concentrate-based proteins usually tolerate this one — but it is a dairy product, not a dairy-free one, and not suitable if you have a diagnosed milk allergy.
How to use it
One 32 g scoop into 250 to 300 ml of cold water. Water rather than milk: milk thickens it but adds back the fat and carbohydrate the filtering just removed. It absorbs quickly, so around training is the convenient window, but total protein across the day matters more than the timing of any single shake.
Flavours
The 3 LBS tub comes in Gourmet Chocolate and Gourmet Vanilla — the two staples. The selector above shows which is in stock today. If neither is available, the 5 LBS tub carries a much wider flavour range, or browse the rest of our whey protein range.
