Dymatize ISO 100 is a hydrolysed whey protein isolate — the top tier of Dymatize's protein range, and one of the few proteins on this shelf where almost everything that is not protein has been filtered out. One 32 g scoop carries 25 g of protein with 2 g of carbohydrate and 1 g of fat behind it.
What is in one scoop
One 32 g scoop delivers:
- 25 g of protein from hydrolysed whey protein isolate and whey protein isolate — 50% of the daily value in a single scoop.
- 120 calories, 2 g of carbohydrate (1 g of it sugar, none of it added sugar) and 1 g of fat, none of it saturated and none trans.
- 10 mg cholesterol, 180 mg sodium, 230 mg potassium, 120 mg calcium and 0.8 mg iron.
That ratio is the point of the product. Very little arrives with the protein that is not protein.
Hydrolysed isolate: what that actually means
Whey comes in three tiers, and price tracks how far it has been processed. Whey concentrate is the least filtered, so more fat and lactose comes along with it. Whey isolate is filtered further until most of that is stripped out. Hydrolysed whey isolate goes one step past that — the protein chains are broken into shorter fragments before they ever reach you, which is where the "pre-digested" description comes from.
ISO 100 leads with hydrolysed whey protein isolate as its first ingredient, with standard whey protein isolate second. There is no concentrate in the formula at all. That is the entire reason it sits at the top of the price range rather than the middle of it.
Ingredients, in full
Read directly off the tub: hydrolysed whey protein isolate, whey protein isolate, cocoa powder (processed with alkali), then less than 2% of salt, soy lecithin, natural and artificial flavour, potassium chloride, sucralose and steviol glycosides (stevia).
Allergens: contains milk and soy. The filtering removes most of the lactose but this is a dairy product, not a dairy-free one — if you have a diagnosed milk allergy, this is not the protein for you. If you are lactose-intolerant rather than milk-allergic, an isolate this heavily filtered is usually the easiest whey to tolerate, but "easier" is not the same as "none".
One honest note on taste: the combination of hydrolysed whey and steviol glycosides leaves a slightly bitter finish that some people notice and some never do. It is characteristic of hydrolysed protein generally, not a fault in the batch.

How to use it
Mix one 32 g scoop into 250 to 300 ml of cold water and shake. Water is the better default here — milk thickens it but adds back the fat and carbohydrate the filtering just removed, which works against the reason most people pay for an isolate.
Because it absorbs quickly, the useful window is around training: straight after a session, or before one if you train fasted and want protein in your system without anything heavy sitting in your stomach. On rest days it is simply a way to hit a daily protein target. Timing matters far less than total daily intake.
At one scoop a day, a 5 LBS tub runs a little over two months. Two scoops a day and it is closer to five weeks.
Who it suits
ISO 100 is worth the premium if you are lean or getting leaner and want the cleanest protein-to-calorie ratio available, or if ordinary whey concentrate sits badly with you and you have been looking for something gentler. It is also a sensible choice if you train twice a day and want something that does not feel heavy between sessions.
It is the wrong buy if your goal is simply hitting a protein target at the lowest cost per gram. A whey blend does that job for meaningfully less money, and the extra filtration buys you nothing you would notice. Browse our whey protein range if that describes you better. It is also the wrong buy if you are gaining weight on purpose — a low-carbohydrate isolate is working against you there.
Flavours and availability
Dymatize produces ISO 100 in a wide flavour range and the line-up changes between production runs. Rather than list flavours we may not have, the selector above shows exactly which ones are in stock today; anything greyed out is temporarily unavailable rather than discontinued. Gourmet Chocolate is the most consistently stocked and the one most people start with.
