This is the 1.43 LBS tub of Dymatize ISO 100 — the smallest size, holding about 20 scoops. It is the tub to buy when you want to try a hydrolysed isolate before committing to a large one, and it is the only size that carries the Dunkin coffee flavours.
What is in one scoop
One 32 g scoop delivers:
- 25 g of protein from hydrolysed whey protein isolate and whey protein isolate — 50% of the daily value.
- 120 calories, 2 g of carbohydrate (1 g of it sugar, none added) and 1 g of fat, none saturated and none trans.
- 10 mg cholesterol, 180 mg sodium, 230 mg potassium, 120 mg calcium and 0.8 mg iron.
Nothing is watered down in the smaller tub. The per-scoop panel is identical to the 3 LBS and 5 LBS — only the scoop count changes.
The Dunkin flavours are only in this size
Dymatize makes ISO 100 in a Dunkin' range built around coffee-shop flavours, and on this store those come in the 1.43 LBS tub alone: Dunkin Cappuccino and Dunkin Mocha Latte. Neither is available in the 3 LBS or 5 LBS. Gourmet Chocolate is stocked in this size too, so you can also use the small tub simply to test the standard flavour before buying a large one.
These are coffee-flavoured protein rather than a protein-and-coffee product: the formula is the same ISO 100 as every other flavour, with the flavouring changed.
Who the small tub is for
Three sensible reasons to buy this size rather than a bigger one. You have never used a hydrolysed isolate and want to know how it sits with you before spending on a 5 LBS tub. You are travelling and a 2.27 kg tub is not going in the bag. Or you want one of the Dunkin flavours, in which case this is the only tub that has them.
If none of those apply, buy bigger. Small tubs always cost more per serving than large ones, and if you already know ISO 100 works for you, the 5 LBS is the better-value purchase.
How the three sizes compare
| Size | Scoops per tub | Protein per tub |
|---|---|---|
| 5 LBS (2.27 kg) | About 71 | About 1,775 g |
| 3 LBS (1.36 kg) | About 42 | About 1,050 g |
| 1.43 LBS (649 g) — this tub | About 20 | About 500 g |
The live price and the flavours in stock right now are shown above, on this page. The figures in this table are read off each tub's own Supplement Facts panel, not quoted from a catalogue. Twenty scoops is about three weeks at one a day, or ten days at two.
Hydrolysed isolate, briefly
ISO 100 contains no whey concentrate. Its first ingredient is hydrolysed whey protein isolate, with standard whey protein isolate second — whey filtered until nearly everything that is not protein has been removed, then broken into shorter chains before you drink it. That is why 25 g of protein arrives with only 2 g of carbohydrate behind it, and why it costs more than a whey blend. The 5 LBS page explains the three whey tiers in full.
Ingredients and allergens
Full list off the tub: hydrolysed whey protein isolate, whey protein isolate, cocoa powder (processed with alkali), then less than 2% of salt, soy lecithin, natural and artificial flavour, potassium chloride, sucralose and steviol glycosides (stevia).
Contains milk and soy. Worth reading before you buy even a small tub: heavy filtering leaves very little lactose behind, so this is usually the gentlest form of whey on the stomach, but it is still made from dairy. If you have a diagnosed milk allergy, no amount of filtering makes it safe for you.
Some people notice a faint bitter finish from the hydrolysed whey and the stevia. Twenty scoops is a cheap way to find out whether you are one of them.
How to use it
Level one scoop, 250 to 300 ml of cold water, shake. If you are new to hydrolysed protein, start with a single scoop a day for the first week and see how it settles before going to two — that is the main reason to buy a small tub in the first place.
Use water rather than milk. Milk makes it thicker but puts back the fat and carbohydrate the filtering took out, which defeats the point of paying for an isolate.
Flavours and availability
This size is stocked in Gourmet Chocolate, Dunkin Cappuccino and Dunkin Mocha Latte. The selector above shows what is actually available today — anything greyed out is temporarily out of stock rather than discontinued.
