Muscletech Masstech Extreme 2000
Mass Tech Extreme 2000 is the heaviest MuscleTech mass gainer — a 2,130-calorie serving built for people who genuinely struggle to put on weight and have found ordinary gainers are not moving the scale. This is the 6 LBS bag in Triple Chocolate Brownie and Vanilla Milkshake.
What is in one serving
A full serving is 6 scoops (569 g), and the bag holds about 5 of them. That serving delivers:
- 2,130 calories — the figure on this bag's own panel, for the powder measured on its own, before you add milk or anything else.
- 60 g of protein from a whey matrix of concentrate, hydrolysed isolate and isolate.
- 460 g of carbohydrate, of which only 24 g is sugar and 2 g is fibre.
- 6 g of fat (3.5 g saturated), 170 mg cholesterol and 830 mg sodium.
Read those numbers before you buy. A full serving is a meal and a half in a shaker, and at six scoops a time a 6 LBS bag is roughly a five-day supply. If you take a half serving instead it lasts proportionally longer — the arithmetic is yours to do, but plan for it.
The Mass-Tech co-factor blend
This is what separates Extreme 2000 from a plain carbohydrate-and-whey gainer, and from the rest of the MuscleTech mass gainer range. Every serving carries five named ingredients at stated doses, printed on the panel rather than hidden inside a proprietary blend:
- L-Glutamine and Glutamic Acid — 10.6 g
- L-Leucine — 6.4 g
- Creatine Monohydrate — 5 g
- L-Valine — 3.4 g
- L-Isoleucine — 3.4 g
The creatine figure is worth stating plainly, because it is widely misquoted: the panel on this bag reads 5 g of creatine monohydrate per serving. That is a full standard daily dose on its own, so if you already take creatine separately, count this towards your total rather than on top of it.
The carbohydrate is not all one thing
The carbohydrate comes from a multi-phase complex of maltodextrin, oat bran and isomaltulose rather than a single fast sugar. Maltodextrin digests quickly, oat bran is a slower wholegrain source, and isomaltulose releases more gradually still. That mix is why 460 g of carbohydrate carries only 24 g of sugar, and it is the main reason this sits above the cheap dextrose-heavy gainers.
It also carries a full vitamin and mineral blend — A, C, D, E, K, the B group, plus calcium, iron, iodine, zinc, selenium, copper, chromium and potassium.
How to use it
Six scoops into 475 to 590 ml of cold water or milk, in a shaker or ideally a blender — at this volume a blender genuinely mixes better. Water keeps the calories to what is on the panel; milk pushes them higher, which is the point for some people and not for others.
Most people take it once a day, either after training or as an extra meal between meals. It is not a replacement for food. It works when it sits on top of a diet that is already adequate, which is exactly why it is a gainer and not a meal replacement.
Who it suits
This is for hard gainers — people training seriously, eating what they think is enough, and still not gaining. If you have tried a 1,000-calorie mass gainer and stalled, this is the tier above it: the heaviest MuscleTech mass gainer sold, and one of the heaviest on any shelf.
It is the wrong product if you are trying to stay lean, if you gain weight easily, or if you want a protein shake. At 460 g of carbohydrate a serving it will do exactly what it says on the bag. If protein is what you are actually after, our whey protein range is the right shelf; if you want a lighter gainer, browse the rest of our mass gainers.
One practical note: the sodium is 830 mg a serving and the cholesterol 170 mg. Worth knowing if you are managing either.

Ingredients and allergens
Multi-phase carbohydrate complex (maltodextrin, oat bran, isomaltulose); premium whey protein matrix (whey protein concentrate, hydrolysed whey protein isolate, whey protein isolate); then 2% or less of natural and artificial flavours, cocoa powder processed with alkali, cocoa extender, coconut oil, corn syrup solids, sodium caseinate, mono and diglycerides, dipotassium phosphate, silicon dioxide, soy and/or sunflower lecithin, salt, the vitamin and mineral blend, sucralose, acesulfame-potassium, a gum blend of cellulose gum, xanthan gum and carrageenan, and medium chain triglycerides.
Contains milk and soy. There is sodium caseinate in the formula alongside the whey, so this is not a low-lactose product and it is not suitable if you have a milk allergy.
Sizes and flavours
The 6 LBS bag is the size we carry, in Triple Chocolate Brownie and Vanilla Milkshake. You may still see 7 LBS and 12 LBS listed in the selector above — those sizes are discontinued and are not being restocked, so everything described on this page refers to the 6 LBS bag.
The selector also shows which flavour is in stock today. If neither is available, Rule1 Mass is the closest gainer we keep in stock — a 6 LBS bag in the same bracket, though a lighter formula than this one.
