Nitro Tech Ripped is MuscleTech's cutting formula: a whey protein isolate and whey peptide blend carrying a separate, fully disclosed matrix of ingredients. It is built for people training hard while eating in a calorie deficit — the lean-phase version of Nitro Tech, not a mass-gaining protein.
What is in one scoop
One 43 g scoop delivers:
- 30 g of protein from whey peptides and whey protein isolate — the two fastest-absorbing forms of whey.
- 160 calories, 4 g of carbohydrate (2 g of which are sugars) and 3 g of fat, 2 g of it saturated.
- 90 mg cholesterol, 380 mg calcium, 210 mg potassium and 125 mg sodium.
It is low in carbohydrate, not carbohydrate-free. If you are tracking macros closely, count the 4 g.
Whey isolate and peptides: what that actually means
Two forms of whey do the work here. Whey protein isolate is whey filtered until most of the fat, lactose and carbohydrate has been stripped out. That is why 30 g of protein arrives with only 4 g of carbohydrate behind it. Whey peptides are hydrolysed whey, meaning the protein has already been broken into shorter chains before it reaches you.
That pairing is what puts this in the isolate tier rather than the cheaper concentrate tier. It is also the practical difference between a lean-phase protein and a general-purpose one.
The Ripped+ Matrix
This is what separates Nitro Tech Ripped from the standard version. Every scoop carries five named ingredients at stated doses — a fully disclosed formula, with no proprietary blend hiding the amounts:
- L-Carnitine L-Tartrate — 500 mg
- CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) — 250 mg
- Robusta coffee extract — 200 mg, standardised to 45% chlorogenic acids
- Rose hip extract — 100 mg, standardised to vitamin C
- Kelp — 20 mg
Medium chain triglycerides are in the formula too, listed under other ingredients rather than inside the matrix. Fully disclosed dosing matters here: a blend that lists the same five ingredients without amounts can legally contain a fraction of these doses.
How it compares to the rest of the range
Same brand, different jobs. Standard Nitro Tech is a whey blend built around protein alone, and it is better value per gram if adding size is the goal. This one is isolate-based, lower in carbohydrate, and carries the Ripped+ Matrix — so it earns its premium during a cut and not much else. Nitro Tech Whey Gold is a third option in the same range if you want a whey blend without the cutting ingredients.

How to use it
Mix one scoop into 240 ml (8 oz) of cold water and drink it 30 to 60 minutes before your two largest meals of the day. It also blends into a smoothie without turning gritty. Water keeps it light; milk makes it thicker but adds calories back, which works against the reason most people buy this particular formula.
One scoop is a 43 g serving, so a 4 LBS tub runs roughly six weeks at one scoop a day.
Who it suits
This one makes sense if you are training seriously and eating in a deficit — holding onto muscle while cutting, rather than adding size. The Ripped+ Matrix is the entire reason to pay for this version over the standard one. It only earns that premium if cutting is the phase you are actually in.
If you just want protein to hit a daily target, the standard version is better value per gram. Worth knowing either way: the robusta coffee extract is a coffee-bean extract, so this is not a caffeine-free protein. Most people keep it to earlier in the day.

We stock it in Chocolate Fudge Brownie and French Vanilla Bean. Availability moves week to week, and the flavour selector above shows what is actually in stock today. If your flavour is out, browse the rest of our whey protein range.
